Dr. Carolee Dodge Francis
Carolee Dodge Francis, Ed.D., Las Vegas, Nevada is the Executive Director of the American Indian Research and Education Center for the University of Nevada Las Vegas. Dr. Dodge Francis is involved with “Diabetes Education in Tribal Schools (DETS) project, a federally funded initiative that is developing a national K-12 type 2 diabetes school curriculum for American Indians/Alaska Natives. She has over 20 years experience in community/public health, education development and community-based participatory research with urban and rural American Indian communities. Dr. Dodge Francis is a member of the National Diabetes Education Program (NDEP), American Indian and Alaska Native Work Group, and the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Native American National Advisory Council. She is an enrolled member of the Oneida Nation of Wisconsin.

Kyle Ethelbah
Kyle Ethelbah is currently the Director for Adult Educational Services (AES) with the Center for Academic Enrichment & Outreach at the University of Nevada Las Vegas.

AES is nationally known as an Educational Opportunity Center (EOC) and serves to assist low income and first generation adults (19 years older and up) to gain access to higher education.  Kyle also currently serves as the President for the National Educational Opportunity Centers Association (NEOCA) and has previously served NEOCA as Vice President and secretary.  He has presented at numerous national, state and regional conferences on various topics ranging from the effectiveness of TRIO Programs (federally funded educational outreach programs) in assisting low income and first generation students gain access and succeed in higher education, to the historical implications of American Indian student success in higher education.  Kyle is a member of the State of Nevada Indian Education Advisory Committee, a gubernatorial oversight committee aimed at increasing access to education for Nevada’s American Indian communities.  Kyle received his bachelors degree in Cultural & Linguistic Anthropology and Spanish from the University of Arizona, and is completing his studies for a Masters in Public Health at the University of Nevada Las Vegas.

Kyle is a member of the White Mountain Apache Tribe from Whiteriver, Arizona and is an alumnus of the Northern Arizona University Nizhoni, Upward Bound and University of Arizona, Student Encouragement Program - Student Support Services Programs.

Dr. P. Jane Hafen
P. Jane Hafen (Taos Pueblo) is Associate Professor of English. She serves on numerous advisory and editorial boards. She has edited Dreams and Thunder: Stories, Poems and the Sun Dance Opera by Zitkala-Sa, co-edited The Great Plains Reader, and authored Reading Louise Erdrich’s Love Medicine and numerous articles.

Dr. Patrice Hollrah
Patrice Hollrah earned her B.A. in Literature and Language, Richard Stockton State College of New Jersey; her M.A. in English, Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, Campus at Camden; and her Ph.D. in English, University of Nevada, Las Vegas. She has directed the UNLV Writing Center since 2001 and teaches for the Department of English. Among her publications in the field of Native American Literature is “The Old Lady Trill, the Victory Yell”: The Power of Women in Native American Literature (New York: Routledge, 2003). She is President of the Association for the Study of American Indian Literatures (ASAIL) and a member of the steering committee for the Native American Literature Symposium (NALS).

Christopher Kypuros
Christopher Kypuros was born in Texas and raised on San Antonio's Westside. The son of a migrant worker, he supports all people seeking justice and peace. He is a poet, an educator, and an activist. With Greek and Mexican roots, he embraces himself as a Chicano of the Mexikah People. He believes education to be one of the wisest investments one can make in life. He finds satisfaction by helping those who wish to help themselves.

He is currently serves as the faculty advisor for the Native American Student Association and a member of the American Indian Alliance. Christopher is a financial aid administrator at the University of Nevada Las Vegas.
